!!"JUMP START:" NEW DEVELOPMENTS UNDERWAY TOWARD WORKSHOP GOAL OF
DEVELOPING JCQ 2.0:
In recent weeks a major opportunity was presented to the JCQ Center,
which "speeds up" our design process. The Korean occupational health and safety community offered to field a 9,000 person study to pilot a new JCQ 2.0, if a version could be quickly developed.  The JCQ International Board responded quickly to this opportunity, and with some intense Board discussions, produced a "Proto-Pilot" which was an adaptation of a "sample idea" posted on the JCQ Center website (www.jcqcenter.org à JCQ 2.0  à section IV: A sample JCQ 2.0).

This "Proto-Pilot" is of course only a beginning.  These new scales together with the old core, should certainly help us to understand the usefulness of some of the new ideas.  But with the limited time for development, and limited communication with JCQ Users, the proto-pilot represents a "work-in-progress."  There was certainly no time to make final decisions, and most of the major discussion topics could not be reviewed, by either the Board or the User's who participated.  However, the reality of a "New Data" coming in the near future can "jump starts" the re-design dialogue.  The fact we now have some "concrete anchor" in the form of some new JCQ 2.0 gives us a more secure platform to address the very broad theoretical and methodological discussion on measurement of some of the global economy and new psychological demands topics outlined in the JCQ 2.0 website documents.  To promote this discussion we are placing a record of some of the commentary of "proto-pilot" discussion on the website, along with the "Proto-Pilot."

We are suggesting an Agenda for the Workshop below that can be a combination of theoretical discussion and review of practical alternatives. This agenda can be changed with consensus input from User's and from the Board, so please forward your suggestions.
